What this means for your business

The single biggest gap between high-revenue and low-revenue local service businesses isn't marketing spend, brand, or even pricing. It's how fast they reply to the leads they already get.

The average HVAC business in our sample answers about 65% of inbound calls and takes 8.4 hours to follow up on the rest. The top quartile answers 88% and replies in under 12 minutes. That single difference accounts for an estimated $48,000–$96,000 in additional booked jobs per year for a typical 3-tech HVAC operation.

The cheapest growth lever is not running more ads. It's catching and converting the leads you've already paid for.

Methodology

Public statistics are cited inline above with their original sources. Internal benchmarks are drawn from anonymized aggregate data across 120 LeadRecover customers active between January 1 and March 31, 2026. Industries with fewer than 15 businesses are excluded from the breakdown table. No personally identifiable customer data was used.
